Sustainable Gifting with Prezzee

As a 100% digital company, care for the natural world is at the forefront of everything we do.

With the launch of our most planet-friendly Prezzee yet - The Sustainable Smart eGift Card - we sat down with the conscious brands featured on the card to discuss all things sustainable. From their impact, packaging methods, business practices and more, Eva, HelloFresh, ettitude, Vitable and By Beth are at the forefront of creating a better future.

What does sustainability mean to your business?

Vitable

Our mission is to shake up the throwaway culture of supplements, by providing our customers with a plastic-free alternative for taking their vitamins everyday.

This means formulating high-quality products that are much better for the environment, and are beautifully designed at the same time.

Sustainable packaging alternatives in our industry tend to be on average 30-40% more expensive, but we’ve absorbed this cost as we don’t feel our customers should have to choose between ‘the sustainable option’ and the quality and aesthetic of their Vitable experience.

Eva

The home is at the heart of everything we do. Creating a safe home for everyone is the force that motivates us to do better and drives Eva forward. This year we became a B Corp — a certification that measures a company's environmental and social impact. We're 1 of 8 furniture brands in Australia to be certified.

ettitude

ettitude’s mission is to create sustainable comfort for people and the planet by making today’s decisions for our collective tomorrow. As a business, and as individuals, we choose to embrace the possibilities of what can be. We’re questioning the status quo, and taking action to shape a world we’re proud to live in.

HelloFresh

As we grow as a business, we see an even greater responsibility as the world’s largest meal-kit provider. We are aiming to drive sustainable progress on environmental, social, and governance issues through our operations, workforce, supply chain, customers, and local communities.

Our mission is to change the way people eat, specifically in supporting and empowering our customers to make more conscious meal choices for their health and for the planet.

By Beth

Our biggest beauty inspiration is nature. We carefully consider both body and planet in everything we do; every detail of the brand is a meticulous labour of love for the natural world.

Our formulations are made from locally grown native botanicals, sourced only from Australian producers. We selectively work with suppliers based on their sustainable farming and grazing practices which help to regenerate the land and reverse climate change.

What conscious business practices have you implemented?

Vitable

Our daily vitamin packs are made from plant-based cellulose, produced from sustainably harvested Eucalyptus trees. We’re the only company in Australia packaging vitamins in certified home compostable packs.

In March 2022, we also upgraded our monthly cardboard vitamin pack container to a solid, refillable tin dispenser to minimise unnecessary waste and to be reused for the entirety of your Vitable journey.

We know there is always more work to be done when it comes to sustainability, and we're committed to continuing to innovate in this space as much as possible on our business journey.

By Beth

We are committed to constantly innovating our packaging to follow global best-practice, such as using FSC certified paper across our packaging suite, recycled materials in our rigid boxes and soy-based inks. Our hero glass vessel is designed to be reused for life!

ettitude

It all starts with bamboo, the most resource-efficient plant on earth. Our eco-forward CleanBamboo™ fabric is made in a non-toxic, closed-loop system that recycles and reuses water up to 200 times. When compared to cotton, our signature sheet set saves 99% water and avoids 38% carbon emissions.

Eva

From creating a sofa that's made from post-consumer plastic (each sofa saves roughly 300 plastic bottles from landfill), to using recycled plastic to package our products, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint.

Our aim is to continue to design products that are gentle on the earth (like our biodegradable Hemp Linen) ,and discover new ways to improve our packaging and reduce waste where we can.

HelloFresh

We source many of our ingredients directly from Aussie suppliers, removing steps from the traditional supply chain. Not only does this reduce our carbon emissions, but it means your food gets to you faster and fresher! In Australia, we are proud to support the community and donate to those who need it most through organisations such as Foodbank & OzHarvest.

We're also committed to making 100% of our packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025. We are working towards this by ensuring all new packaging is recyclable through partnerships with organisations like REDCycle.
